SLJ Seeks Program Director

Suffolk Lawyers for Justice seeks a full-time Program Director whose responsibilities will include:

• Managing contracts and coordinate case assignments for over 400 private attorneys

• Supporting a 22-member Board of Directors in developing training and monitoring programs to improve the quality of representation for indigent criminal defendants

• Establishing relationships with various legal organizations, community groups and local law schools to provide support and resources to attorney panel

• Managing five part-time supervising attorneys to meet state contract reporting requirements

• Supervising two staffpersons, interns, and volunteers

• Publishing a newsletter for participating attorneys

• Overseeing annual budgeting and financial matters

 

Qualifications: Knowledge of the court system and basic financial practices needed; BA/BS in business or administration, JD or web design a plus.  Contract management and/or familiarity with state contract requirements helpful.  Ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with many diverse groups.
