SLJ Board Member Farber Publishes Op-Ed on Boston Safe Homes Policy

On February 23, 2008, the Boston Herald published an editorial written by SLJ Board member Hillary Farber.  The article critiques the Boston Police Department's recently announced "Safe Homes" policy.  "Safe Homes" seeks to curb youth violence by sending teams of officers to the homes of juvenile suspects in targeted neighborhoods.  Farber's editorial describes the "collateral consequences" of the program, including the dangers of compelled testimony by family members.
